The Brass-Shod Twin Pillar Table uses two independent pedestals rather than one shared base: two black tapered pillars, each finished with a brass shoe and standing on its own brass disc foot. The open floor between the pedestals is the point — diners at the long sides have their knees and feet completely free, and cleaning under the table is a single pass of the mop.
The top is a white marble-look surface in a slim bronze-tone metal band, a crisper edge than the timber-banded family and a better fit for brighter, more formal rooms. Two separate pedestals must be positioned precisely so the top never spans too far between them; we set them on the shop drawing to the top length, typically about a quarter of the length in from each end.
This is the base type we recommend for rectangles of 48 in (122 cm) and longer, and the brass shoes and discs make it a strong match for rooms with brass lighting and hardware.
The brass finish is specified as lacquered brass or a brass-tone PVD on steel, depending on budget and how much patina the owner wants.
